Born and raised in Toxteth, Liverpool (UK). I went to St. Silas School and left Liverpool with family in 1988 to live in Leigh, Lancashire. I attended Lowton High School.

I am currenty residing and working in Eastbourne, East Sussex. I am involved in worship at Kings Church (keyboards) and work within education.  I control and organise Academy Internet Radio, helping students master audio production techniques, podcast production and online broadcasting.

I enjoy socialising, playing keyboards, audio production and youth work, something I've been involved with on and off since the dawn of time, somewhere around 1996. I have been on the Logos II with Operation Mobilisation and have done a year out with Careforce.

I have produced music on BBC GMR 95.1, my first introduction to Cool Edit and Midi sound production. I was also on the Daybreak team (Sunday mornings) on BBC Radio Merseyside and had my first experiences of sound editing, using open reel and splicing knife. (We were always told not to play with knives!)

I have built up my own studio which consists of Korg M1R and Roland XP30 synthesisers, Korg D16XD multi-track recorder.  It's great having a personal studio, for the fun of building it, and also for the advantage of working to your own speed and rhythm in an environment you are cool in.
Anyway, for my audio needs; such as music making, jingle production and creating my zero beat ambient music this is perfect.

I will be uploading to my page 'David Hall-smith Music' over the coming months. I enjoy all things 'radio', so expect interesting things on our "AIR Academy Internet Radio" page.
I have also presented programmes for Galaxy and produced jingles and IDs for East Manchester Radio and other online radio ventures.

So, I am part of the King's Church Eastbourne & Seaford Worship team, a fantastic team of humble and talented singers and musicians.

As far as Eastbourne goes, I think it's great. As a location to live, it is breezy, it's tranquil by the coast. Allegedly, it is "the sunniest coast in Britain". Actually, it's been a warm and sunny summer, so I can't complain. I enjoy work though it can, of course be challenging. I tend to enjoy being absorbed in what I do.

However,  I enjoy with much relief, as we all do, weekends and holidays. I have great friends and family up north, as well as down south and dotted around the planet in different places.

So, when it comes to recreation, I enjoy a party atmosphere, and like to go clubbing and socialising, around Eastbourne and occasionally Brighton's plethora of great bars and clubs.

Meeting new people is an exciting thing. To unwind, you can't beat the lights, the sounds of electro music and dance.
I mean, food is great full stop. However, you can't better a decent BBQ and being by the beach is a nice touch. The same goes for a nice cold pint.

I'm not going to beat around the bush. Church is awesome. The teaching at King's is challenging and cutting edge. The worship is joyful and takes us on a journey to meet with God.

Well, God is Good. He is Awesome and will always be an essential and exciting part of my earthly and heavenly existence.

My favourite films are those that are deep and quirky. The perfect example being "Inside John Malkovich" with John Cusack and Cameron Diaz. All time favourite trilogy would have to be Back To The Future. Films and theories that approach subjects on space time continuums, wormholes, relativity, speed of light, all that jazz. Fascinating. (to me, that is!!)

My favourite Independant film would have to be "Letter To Brezhnev", set to a backdrop of 1980s Liverpool. When it comes to comedies, I just love those that poke fun at cliches and stereotypes, such as Benidorm, The Royle Family, Keeping Up Appearances and comedies with famous comedians like Peter Kay in Phoenix Nights. Shameless and gutsy series like that rate highly too.

Thanks so much for your friendship and connecting with me on Facebook. Keep in touch often and hope to see more of you!
